Parents, by becoming an active participant in the Title I parent involvement plan at your school, you will:
An informational meeting for families of students receiving Title I services is held each November. Agenda items include an overview of the program and important documents, family involvement opportunities and strategies, and ideas for helping students academically at home. A flyer with meeting details is sent home each fall, and information is posted on the school website as well.
Two Title 1 PAC meetings are held each year, in November and March. All Title 1 parents are welcome and encouraged to join us!. Lunch is provided, and childcare and rides are available upon request. The location of meetings rotates between Sunnyside and Burnside schools. A flyer with meeting details is sent home prior to each PAC meeting, and information is posted on the school website as well.
Classroom parent-teacher conferences are held annually for all students in November & March. Title 1 staff is available to conference with families on a drop-in basis during conference hours, and may attend a child's scheduled classroom conference if requested by a parent or classroom teacher. In addition to conferences, progress information will be sent home at least 2 times per year for students in grades K-4.
Family Fun Night
Title I holds an end of the year “Family Fun Night” in May. Details are planned at the spring Title I PAC meeting. A flyer with Fun Night details is sent home each spring, and information is posted on the school website as well.
