Bus Stop and Walk returns on Wednesday, Oct. 2 and will continue every Wednesday until Nov. 6 (weather permitting). The program gives every student the opportunity to walk to school, even if they ride the bus. Buses drop students a safe and walkable distance from school, allowing them to walk with the goal of improving physical and mental health, increasing academic performance and building community by dropping students within a walkable distance to school.
Sunnyside bus riders will be dropped off between 7:25 and 7:40 a.m. on Roosevelt Avenue next to Roosevelt Park and walk to Sunnyside from there. Staff will be stationed at intersections along the way to help students cross.
Parents who drop off their students at school are welcome to do so at Roosevelt Avenue on those Wednesdays. We just asked that you drop off on the side of the road opposite the buses (and opposite the park).
