About Our District

The Red Wing Public Schools is located in the historic Minnesota River town of Red Wing, Minn. The city has a population of 16,566 according to the 2020 U.S. Census.

The arts, outdoor activities, manufacturing and history are among the community’s signature attributes. Red Wing Arts, the Sheldon Theatre and Anderson Center are partners who help the District enrich student opportunities. Our bluffs – He Mni Can/Barn Bluff in particular – attract climbers, hikers and people who simply wish to soak up the vistas in all directions. The twin bluffs from which Twin Bluff Middle School gets its name are part of our outdoor education efforts. Plus, there are 30-plus manufacturers that call Red Wing home, and offer high school student internship opportunities.
