Lisa Donald
Welcome to my website!

I love teaching! The 2017-18 school year will be my 23rdyear teaching at Red Wing High School and my 30th year teaching overall. This school year, I will teach 8th Grade Global Studies and 10th grade American history.

I am a historian. I read a lot of books about history. When I drive, I listen to audio books about history. When I go to movies,
I see movies that are based on history. When I travel, I go to their historic districts. Yes, I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to travel to the four corners of the United States, Canada, Mexico, West Indies, South America, Western Europe, and Eastern Europe. My travel adventures around the world has given me the opportunity to share what I have learned with my students.

My main goal for your son and daughter in history or global studies is to gain an understanding and appreciation for the people who tried to make their world a better place for everyone. I want my students to use the lessons of history to help them make decisions and to help them plan for the future. I want them to be inspired by people in history who showed courage, resolve, and grit.

On a personal note, when I have free time, I like to train for marathons, read, garden, travel, golf, watch sports, and host dinners for extended family and friends.

If you are interested, you may read my daily lesson plans found on the Google calendar. You will need to double click on the lesson before you can read it. When you read my lesson, you will see the Minnesota State Standard, my learning goals, essential vocabulary, and what we discussed in class that day.

Teachers and parents make great teammates. Let's support each other in our efforts to help all students reach their potential.

My office hours are before school (7:15-7:45) and after school (2:50-3:15).

Please, feel free to email me with any questions.
And remember my motto, "Don't let history be a mystery!"
