Good Eaters. High Achievers. Strong Leaders.

Children need nutritious meals to learn. To that end, the Red Wing School district serves nutritious meals every school day. All meals served meet nutritional standards established by the U. S. Department of Agriculture. If a child has been determined by a physician to have a disability and the disability prevents the child from eating the regular meal, we will make modifications or substitutions prescribed by the physician at no additional charge.

In grades K-8, lunch and breakfast are available every school day. At Red Wing High School (grades 9-12), the Courtyard Cafe is open before school, during the school day, and after school for student use.

All schools use a computerized school lunch accounting system. The system, called Prepaid Card Services, allows parent to deposit money into a personal lunch account for their child(ren). Each student is issued a four or five digit identification number that she/he will enter into a keypad when coming through the lunch line. The cost of the meal will automatically be deducted from the balance in each student's personal account. This system has eliminated the need for lunch tickets and requires meals to be paid for in advance. Please click  common questions and answers for more information about this system.

Students can deposit money into their accounts by bringing money to the school they attend. Checks should be written to ISD #256.
