8th grade- Students practice in reading, writing, listening/speaking and language standards on a weekly basis.

This month's focus in writing is compare/contrast.  We are making our way through Romeo and Juliet.  Comparisons and contrasts will be made between movie and theatrical versions of the story, as well as plot comparisons with West Side Story.

Assignments will alternate weekly between journals related to readings and grammatical and structural area of writing.  Longer writings will follow completion of literary pieces.

8th grade MCA testing in reading is April 8th-9th. Your student will continue to work on the tested skills through out the second semester.  Testing practice will be a part of the curriculum as we move forward.
