Red Wing School District Literacy Plan
The state legislature of Minnesota has drafted into law the requirement that all state school districts produce a literacy plan to help ensure that all of its students are reading at or above grade level by third grade.

The Red Wing School District has traditionally had strong reading instruction. Recent initiatives have only strengthened our comittment to supporting our readers. These initiatives include the framing of a "Balanced Literacy Framework", the review of English Language Arts curriculum materials, intentional team planning time, and targeted professional development.

The Board of Education adopted a K-3 Literacy Plan on April 7, 2012.
